The Little Black Shack is just that, a shack - albeit a very cosy and comfortable one. Hand built for our family and the environment, it is both our home and our haven. It’s a place where you can feel the wind in your hair, the sun on your face and the sand between your toes as you get in rhythm with the seasons, the weather and the tides.
A place where you can experience the simple pleasures in life. Like full moons and sunrises, rain water and sea breezes, hammocks and books, wood fires and outdoor showers, beach combing and bushwalking, alfresco dining and breakfast in bed. And especially, each other’s company.
An extraordinary escape from everyday stresses and excesses ...
Our aim is to give our guests a relaxing and restorative experience in our sustainable little patch of paradise by giving them everything they need, whilst taking very little from the environment. By the end of their stay, our guests tend to take a lot less for granted too.
The shack is not for everyone. If you want 5 star luxury, night life and celebrities you might prefer to stay in Palm Beach. If you want real stars, wildlife, peace, quiet and a place to connect with and appreciate nature and each other, you might want to jump on the old wooden ferry ‘Myra’ and cross Pittwater to Mackerel Beach.
